Leland B - stone mason wizard / construction manager / founding member
Leland is a founding member. He has over 24 years of experience as an artist, landscape foreman, stone mason, and construction manager.
With a passion for Stone Art, and a love of the natural beauty of Maine, Leland has a knack for realizing and bringing to life a client's vision through quality craftsmanship and efficiency. Whether its natural stone & hardscape, native plants & wild sods, or soils & site work; he works to accomplish the project's goals in an artistically, responsible, and Earth-friendly manner. His creative stonework is the talk of our clients! Leland is Certified in Erosion & Sedimentation Control Practices by the MEDEP. Leland is also a very talented musician, who in his free time, plays his guitar with purpose and soul.
Michael G - landscape architect / office manager / founding member
Michael Gillis, PLA, ASLA, CLARB, is a founding member. He has over 36 years of experience as a landscape architect, project manager, graphic designer, and construction representative for projects of varying scales throughout Maine, New England, and Texas.
Mike has a diverse range of experience in such projects as; commercial & residential landscape design, land-use master planning, construction administration, sustainable development, graphic & web media, as well as private consultations. Mike is a Maine licensed Landscape Architect #4293. Mike is Certified in Erosion & Sedimentation Control Practices by the MEDEP.
Doug B - crew leader / construction
Doug is in his second season at AL+D and we welcome him to the team! Doug approaches every task with a great can-do attitude. He manages the daily tasks of the construction crew and keeps the mission on track.
He assists with loading and trucking of materials, various landscape construction tasks, machine operator, and has quickly learned the ins and outs of quality stonework installation.

Shaun L - crew installations / construction
Shaun is in his first season at AL+D and we welcome him to the team! He is an aspiring landscape designer with a creative vision and strong work ethic.
He has a passion for creating landscape spaces using natural, sustainable, and native materials. In his free time he likes to hike, camping, and enjoying the great outdoors.

COME WORK WITH US IN 2026!
We are currently looking to add to our construction team! The ideal candidate will have stonework skills, equipment experience, and can drive a truck. Attitude is everything, and so we are willing to train the right person who loves the outdoors, wants to work in the landscape field, and learn the latest techniques in creating nature-based landscapes with custom granite stonework installations.
